Ad Policy

United Church News Advertising Policy:

Advertising in United Church News must be consistent with the statement of purpose of United Church News and the policies of the General Synod of the United Church of Christ.

United Church News reserves the right to decline any advertisement. Decisions on whether advertising is acceptable are the responsibility of the United Church of Christ Office of Communication.

Acceptance of advertising does not imply endorsement by the United Church of Christ for any product, service or event.

United Church News will not knowingly accept any advertising which is illegal, fraudulent or in bad taste. United Church News will not accept advertising for alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or weapons of any kind. Ads which promote fundraising campaigns or solicit funds will not be accepted.

United Church News will not accept any advertising for a program or product that would jeopardize the common good of a United Church of Christ program which depends on widespread United Church of Christ participation.

In accordance with General Synod policy, United Church News is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. All advertisements for employment must adhere to EEO/AA policy.

It is understood that the advertiser and/or advertising agency will indemnify and hold United Church News and the United Church of Christ harmless from and against any loss, expense or other liability resulting from any claims or suits for libel, violation of right of privacy, plagiarism, copyright infringement and any other claims or suits that may arise out of the publication of such advertisement.

United Church News reserves the right to hold the advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable to United Church News.
